After all, Apple's novelty may not have been so new.
Last September, Apple finally started to say goodbye to the top notch on its screens, with the Dynamic Island of the iPhones 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. The novelty brought an improvement in terms of hardware but also software, allowing a new point of interaction with the smartphone, namely with multimedia controls and quick access to the most used applications.
However, and rummaging through the trunk of the technological world, a smartphone was (re)discovered that already incorporated a concept very similar to the Dynamic Island. In 2015, LG launched the LG V10, a smartphone with two front screens: a 5.7-inch main screen and a 2.1-inch secondary screen just above.
Like the Dynamic Island, it contained a bar where the user could interact with the smartphone, namely accessing the latest contacts in the call log, basic settings, music control or latest notifications.
