5 tips to prolong the life of your Samsung battery

How to keep your Samsung battery longer (and what to do when you have battery problems)

Samsung battery is known for high quality and good performance. When well cared for, it can last longer and provide better performance from your equipment.

The latest generation lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries, used throughout the Samsung Galaxy range, are characterized by their light weight, durability, ease of maintenance and high energy density. Of course, battery capacity and hours of use vary depending on device settings and usage patterns.

Despite being used by virtually every brand on the market, the truth is that lithium batteries deteriorate over time. Even when not in use, charging capacity decreases and the need for more charging cycles increases. So sooner or later, when your Samsung turns off more often than usual, it might be time to replace the battery.

First of all, follow our 5 tips to prolong the life of your Samsung battery:

  • Check the battery. Unlike iOS devices, Android devices do not have a battery health indicator. However, there are other ways to check if your Samsung battery is healthy. The Samsung Members App, which comes pre-installed by default on all Samsung smartphones, provides information on battery life, capacity and charging, as well as sharing tricks, experiences and tips from other members of the community.

  • Avoid extreme temperatures. A smartphone performs better between 0º and 35º. Leaving it in a car on a hot day or leaving it in freezing conditions can cause it to malfunction. If you cannot prevent any of these situations, let the device adjust to the proper temperature before using it again. Caution, continuous use of any appliance can also cause overheating.

  • Use quality chargers and plug them correctly. Using incompatible chargers or forcing the cable in can cause damage to both the USB port and the device itself.
  • When it's a new device or when it hasn't been charged for a long time, charge the battery to 100%. The charger must be turned off as soon as it reaches 100% charge. In normal day-to-day use, however, lithium batteries do not require full charging/discharging because they are not addictive like nickel-cadmium batteries.

  • If you plan to keep your Samsung switched off for a long time, charge it to approximately 50% to 70% capacity before switching it off. Charge again every 3 or 6 months.

How was that joke? The problem with my smartphone is not the battery, it's the memory. 20 minutes after being charged, have you forgotten it!?
