Announced in September, the new iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max bring many new features, but water resistance is not one of them, and this is a topic that is no longer new in the Apple Universe. ng with iPhone 7, all models are considered to be water, splash and dust resistant. According to the International Electronic Commission (IEC) the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X are rated IP67. This classification indicates that these models can be submerged to a maximum depth of up to 1 meter and for an estimated time of 30 minutes. However, the new iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max have an IP68 rating (the highest IEC rating) and can be submerged to a maximum depth of 2 meters for up to 30 minutes. These new models are also resistant to accidental splashes of common liquids such as soft drinks, beer, coffee, tea and juices. This is a common feature in the latest equipment from competing brands such as the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S9 and Huawei Mate 10 Pro and Mate 20 Pro.
In the event that any of these scenarios occur, we recommend that you do not turn the equipment on or turn it off, if it is on, and that you go to the nearest iServices Store as soon as possible.
