TikTok limits screen time for teens

TikTok limits screen time for teens

The new feature aims to contribute to the well-being of younger users.

TikTok last week launched a feature that limits the use of the social network to up to 60 minutes a day, a utility aimed at users under 18 years old.

This option will default to all underage user accounts, but can be either turned off or reset. In addition, there will be a Screen Time Management screen, which will send notifications to users who turn off the 60-minute limit and pass the 100-minute daily mark.

Parents will be able to connect to their children's account in order to monitor these limits remotely, or even customize screen time limits depending on the day of the week. These will also have access to the statistics of the same indicator relating to the accounts of the youngest.

Additionally, TikTok currently has the option to send sleep notifications to all users. In the app's settings, the time for the pop-up reminder to appear can be configured to remind users that it's time to turn off the device and go to sleep.
