A first-generation iPhone goes up for auction

The price of the cell phone occupies five digits, and the bidding has already started.

A first-generation iPhone was put up for auction by LCG Auctions, with an estimated value of US$50,000 (€45,582.3 at the time of this writing). The auction closes on the 19th of February, and so far two bids have been placed, the highest being $2,750.

It is a first generation iPhone, the first factory launch, therefore dated 2007. The box is still sealed and in excellent condition and contains an 8GB iPhone.

The first iPhone was launched on January 9, 2007, and marked an unforgettable moment for the mobile phone and smartphone market, setting the pace for other brands. The tactile screen and the home button were arguments that amazed the audience on the day of its presentation.

With a 3.5-inch screen, a 2MP main camera and a battery of only 1400 mAh, the iPhone has forever revolutionized the way we interact with our mobile phones.
