Apple may be preparing a foldable iPhone and/or iPad to launch in 2025.
According to Apple expert analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, quoted by GSMarena, Apple may be testing folding screens with e-ink technology, which could integrate new iPhones or iPads around 2025.
At the moment, the major manufacturer of this type of display is E Ink Corporation, based in Taiwan, and is the major supplier for Amazon's Kindles. This is a technology that, compared to conventional OLED and LCD panels, offers lower energy consumption. However, the big downside is the low screen refresh, a feature that has been improving in recent years in the smartphone market and which has been a differentiating factor.
