Smartphone sales with the worst 3rd quarter in the last 10 years!

Smartphone sales fell 8% between July and September, when compared to last year, something that did not happen 10 years ago, due to the decrease in consumers' need to purchase new equipment. Despite this, between the second and third quarters they increased by 2%, probably due to demand for the new iPhone 15, launched in September.

Samsung continues to be the most competitive brand in this search, with 20% of the market share. Apple follows, with a 16% share, Xiaomi with 12%, and Oppo with 10%. Despite continuing to be the “favorite” brands, none showed positive annual growth between July and September, while Huawei, and other lesser-known brands, saw the opposite dynamic.

This leadership from Samsung reflects the launch of new foldables, which brought a huge increase in demand. Despite this, the A series models continue to be leaders in terms of average prices. Apple, which occupies second place, still creates many expectations among experts who believe that the launch of the iPhone 15 will still see it reach high levels in the fourth quarter, in developed markets.

Experts believe that this negative trend will end in this fourth quarter and the declines that have been recorded this year will end. However, there is almost no doubt that this will be the year with the lowest values in the last decade, this being motivated by the growth of alternative brands to the main ones and also due to greater accessibility and ease of replacing smartphone parts, increasing their longevity. .
