The study was developed with an Apple Watch Series 6.
A research group at the University of Waterloo, Canada, concluded that the Apple Watch has the ability to predict stress peaks in its users, advances TechGoing.
Through the heartbeat reader, the researchers were able to find a strong connection between the recorded values and the level of stress reported by the users at the time of reading. From this information, an algorithm was created with a model for predicting stress peaks.
The heartbeat data is joined by a wide range of relevant information that the watch records, such as sleep data, which allow for greater accuracy of the algorithmic model.
Researchers believe that the Apple Watch can help maintain its users' mental health by suggesting breathing exercises as soon as they detect a possible stress spike, something that competitors like Samsung, Fitbit or Garmin already include.
