Tricks and tips for your new iPhone SE

Despite having a less promising start than previous models, the iPhone SE has been taking its place. Designed as a mobile phone for moving from Android to iOS, especially for countries with emerging markets such as China or Brazil. In Portugal the iPhone SE is already available and if you have already purchased one or if you are still in doubt, here are 10 tricks to get the most out of the SE:

How to use Siri hands-free: You can activate Siri without having to touch your iPhone, just go to Settings > General > Siri and select allow 'Hey Siri'. You will now have to say 'Hey Siri' three times in a row so that your iPhone can record and later recognize your voice. From then on, whenever you say 'Hey Siri' it will activate the assistant.

Save battery: In Settings > Battery you will find a low battery consumption mode. This mode will extend your battery life by turning off some animations, applications running in the background and even 'Hey Siri'.

How to use Live Photos: The iPhone SE has the same 12 megapixel rear camera as the iPhone 6s that supports Live Photos. This service allows you to capture brief seconds before and after the photo you took, creating a short video that can be activated when you press a photo in the gallery. To turn on Live Photos, just press the icon with three circles in the camera application. When this icon is yellow it means the service is on. However, keep in mind that Live Photos captures video and audio, which means that the space that each file occupies is considerably greater than that of a normal photo.

Night Shift: Since iPhone SE comes with the latest iOS version, night shift mode is available. This mode significantly reduces the amount of blue light the iPhone display sends out, lessening the light's impact on your eyes. To turn the mode on just go to settings > Display & brightness > Night Shift and set a time or allow it to adjust.

Protect notes: Did you know that you can protect your notes with a password or as your fingerprint? To enable this option just go to Settings > Notes > Password > and you can select Touch ID or a password.

How to hide photos: You can hide photos from moments, collections and years. To activate this option, select the photo you want to hide Share > Hide. Hidden images will still be present in the albums.

How to view the desktop version of a website: On some websites the mobile version is not completely adapted to your device and you may want to access the desktop version. To achieve this, just press the icon for a few seconds to refresh the page and select the desktop version, this in Safari.
