End to the sound switch? There will be a new button on the iPhone

The brand has not yet confirmed the rumors, but if true, it could be a mechanism similar to the Apple Watch Ultra.

The same person who in the past predicted the launch of Dynamic Island published it again on the MacRumors website, with something unusual, to say the least. According to the source, the iPhone 15 will be able to do without the iconic sound switch, located on the left side, above the volume buttons.

The functionality present on the iPhone since its inception can be replaced by an action button, similar to the Apple Watch Ultra, launched last year. The purpose of this button will be a user-customizable mechanism.

Among others, the functionalities of the new button on the iPhone will be:

• Activate/deactivate Silent mode;

• Activate/deactivate Concentration mode;

• Turn on/off energy saving mode;

• Turn on/off the flash;

• Access the camera;

• Take a screenshot;

• Enable Shazam;

•Between others.

Currently, iPhones have a similar functionality, through the touch on the back of the equipment. It is a command in which, with two or three touches, you can trigger certain functions. To activate and customize these commands, go to Settings > Accessibility > Ringtone > Ringtone on the back.
