Google launched the first beta version of Android 14 on April 13, after two versions for developers. In this version of the operating system, a broader group of Android users will be able to access some of Google's new features. The news is advanced by GSMarena.
For now, Android 14 is only available for the following devices:
• Pixel 4a (5G)
• Pixel 5
• Pixel 5a
• Pixel 6
• Pixel 6 Pro
• Pixel 6a
• Pixel 7
• Pixel 7 Pro
According to Google's release schedule, there will still be a second beta release in May, until it reaches platform stability in June.
What's new in Android 14?
Android 14 promises several new features.
In terms of navigation, the new operating system will have navigation via gestures, with the introduction of an arrow to go back, customizable according to the theme defined on the smartphone.
The sharing screen will also be improved, with suggestions for apps and direct contacts to whom to send the content.
Finally, the functionality of providing different languages in different apps will also be improved, namely at the keyboard level, which will adapt according to the open application.
It is expected that at Google I/O 2023, on May 10th, more details about this update on the Android system will be revealed.
