According to the BBC, Apple refuses to replace the battery of iPhones if there is another anomaly in the equipment. At least, that's what one of the recently discovered clauses in the brand's Terms and Conditions says.
The clause states that if any damage is found on the iPhone it must be repaired before replacing the battery. However, customers complain that even a small scratch on the screen, a dent in the equipment and a broken microphone or speaker are seen as a problem for battery replacement. Anomalies that initially would not influence battery replacement.
Recall that in December of last year, Apple admitted that it was slowing down older iPhones in order to preserve battery life and thus prevent further damage. However, this information was only made public after claims emerged from customers who had replaced the battery in their old iPhone with a new one and that this change had made the device faster. In response, Apple apologized and a battery replacement program for 29€.
