Apple denies carrying out tests of the Touch ID function on the iPhone X

Vice President Dan Ricco says that no tests were carried out to try to relocate the Touch ID function to the inside of the Display on the new iPhone X.

In case there is a change to the function, Apple would like this change to be better and more natural than putting it back inside the glass.

For this reason, Ricco says that Apple has always tried to bet on Face ID, making it a high quality experience, superior to the first experience with the Touch ID function.

Face ID works quite efficiently on this new iPhone, being easy to configure and with a failure rate practically equal to that of the Touch ID function, this is almost non-existent. To configure the function, simply move the nose clockwise. It works so quickly and efficiently that Ricco felt like, at one point, he forgot that he was unlocking the device. This function in conjunction with the new interface makes the entire phone and apps interconnected, and more importantly, allows the usage and behavioral experience to be more organic, natural and cool.

The Vice President believes that the Face ID function will be a huge advantage in accessibility, since with this new function in place and with Siri support, for the first time, the iPhone can be used hands-free .
