iPhone 14 development delayed

The manufacturing process for the next iPhone could be delayed. At stake is the supply of Chinese components, which have seen their delivery deadline postponed due to the new wave of COVID-19 in the country.

According to the latest Nikkei Asia report cited by GSMarena, Apple has been facing delays in the production of the new iPhone 14, due to the new wave of COVID-19 in China.

Pegatron and Luxshare are the two companies that have been experiencing a slow reopening of their facilities in Shanghai. It is estimated that the confinements in China and the consequent production stoppages could cause damages of up to 8 billion dollars to Apple.

According to the same source, new iPhones usually reach engineering verification tests in June. However, the new report points to a three-week delay in this testing on at least one of the new smartphone models.
