Instagram creates age verification methods The social network is planning to implement two age verification models to only ensure users of the legal age and serve users with better content.
Instagram will implement age verification methods for its users, which may take up to two days. The news is advanced by GSMarena.
The first method consists of recording a video in selfie mode, according to the instructions that appear on the screen. The video is shared with Yoti, an expert in age verification, an Instagram partner. After age verification by this entity, the video is deleted. This method may take up to 20 minutes.
The second method involves evaluating other people. Three users of the platform are chosen, who have 3 days to respond. These people must be over 18 years of age and cannot respond to more than one check at a time.
This is just one of several new features that Instagram has been bringing along this year, such as the functionality to pin posts to profiles or the chronological feed.
