Apple continues its bet on affordable smartphones with the launch of the Apple iPhone 17e. As such, some people are asking if it's worth trading in the iPhone 16e or if the differences between the two devices justify the upgrade.
In this article, we analyze the differences between these two iPhone models, from their storage capacity to the cameras and design.
We start with one of the main improvements, the iPhone 17e comes equipped with the A19 chip, while the iPhone 16e uses the A18. In practice, this means that the latest model has greater energy efficiency, as well as better performance in various complex tasks such as playing games or editing images.
Here we find practically the same approach in the two models. Both have a 6.1" OLED screen, in a compact and comfortable format for regular use. With regard to its construction, it continues to be based on aluminum and glass, with the entire design being very familiar with regard to the iPhone line ecosystem.
In the cameras, the differences are less evident. Both models use a 48 MP main camera, capable of making 4K videos and capturing detailed photographs. However, Apple's latest model benefits from improvements in processing due to the new chip, which results in better results in the photographs obtained.
For those who already have an iPhone 16e, switching to the iPhone 17e may not be essential, as some features remain almost the same. However, the iPhone 17e has some advantages, namely in the latest processor, basic storage capacity, MagSafe technology and improved energy efficiency.
