iPhone, Huawei or Xiaomi: which has the best cameras?

The French portal DxOMark is in the habit of publishing the results and samples of photographs that reveal the capacity of the top-of-the-range photo sensors from Apple, Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi.

After being the subject of Cinema Mode demonstrations, the iPhone 13 Pro was reviewed this week and achieved an overall score of 137 in this ranking that continues to be led by Huawei. The new iPhone 13 reached a well-positioned 4th place in the global ranking, but still, surpassed by the Huawei 50 ProXiaomi Mi11 Ultra and Huawei Mate 40 Pro Plus. The iPhone 13 Pro did not reach the podium and was still seven points away from 1st place. However, this new model is already seven points above the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

It is worth remembering that the iPhone 13 Pro has a 12 MP main camera that boasts optical stabilization with Sensor Shift; autofocus with Dual Pixel technology; and f/1.5 lens aperture. There is also an ultra wide-angle lens with a 12MP sensor and phase detection autofocus and a telephoto lens with a 12MP sensor. The creators of this model claim that the model respects the legacy by producing images with vivid and attractive color rendering, with true-to-life skin tones and with a touch slightly deviated from warmer tones. Among the advantages of the new model is the good white balance and accurate exposure of the target. Autofocus is fast and makes using the camera faster and more reliable. The 12 MP sensors do not disappoint and produce good detail indoors and outdoors.

"We can say that Apple has managed to make the most of its imaging hardware, as the best-placed devices in our ranking come with larger and higher resolution sensors in their main cameras", say the French testers.

The smartphone camera is one of the most sought after features and the one that has the most weight when purchasing equipment. The smartphone is sometimes purchased as an alternative to the camera and, therefore, its proper functioning is essential. When the built-in camera stops working, defects can be identified as follows:

  • Camera flash stops working
  • Blurry photographs
  • Camera does not turn on
  • Photos with red signs
  • Camera is not recognized for video calls

In any of these cases, it is advisable to carry out a technical diagnosis in order to fully enjoy your smartphone. There are often impurities in the camera that do not allow the proper capture of images or proper focus. In these cases a simple technical intervention, in the amount of 34.95?, solves the problem. If the camera is damaged we will repair the part.
