Instagram's new feature promises to extend stories from the usual 15 seconds.
Stories on Instagram can be longer than 15 seconds, avoiding splitting videos every 15 seconds. The functionality will allow you to publish videos uninterruptedly for up to 60 seconds. The information was confirmed by Meta to TechCrunch last Friday.
According to the same publication, the new story function has been tested with several users and will be part of a new app update for everyone. However, for users who prefer the traditional 15-second split, they will be able to re-enable it in Instagram settings.
This is yet another video prioritization action on the platform, after the recent extension of Reels to 90 seconds.
Instagram has been implementing a series of changes to its platform throughout this year, such as the chronological feed, the subscription system, or a new and controversial layout.
